Each of these has its place not only in the bartender&#8217;s shelf, but during the course of a meal.<\/p>\n<p>Our first liqueur is Amaretto DiSaronno, a creation that was allegedly created as a reward from a model to a painter who used her as the model for the Virgin Mary. This all happened for the monastery at Saronno.<\/p>\n<p>While it can be imbibed by itself, the most common use of Amaretto is in an <strong>amaretto sour<\/strong>. Simply pour one and a half ounces of Amaretto and top with Sour mix. Other drinks include:<\/p>\n<div style=\"display:block; border-bottom: thin solid white;padding-bottom:5px; margin-bottom:5px;\">\n<div style=\"float:left; max-width:30%;\"><P><a href=\"http:\/\/www.drinksmixer.com\/drink4463.html\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Italian Sunset<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/a><\/P><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>2 oz amaretto almond liqueur<\/li>\n<li>3 oz orange juice<\/li>\n<li>3 oz club soda<\/li>\n<li>1 dash grenadine syrup<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Fill a tall glass with crushed ice. Pour the amaretto over the ice then slowly add the orange juice and top with club soda to form layers. Add a dash of grenadine and garnish with a cherry and orange slice.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"float:left; max-width:30%;margin-left:20px;\"><P><a href=\"http:\/\/cocktails.lovetoknow.com\/cocktail-recipes\/10-best-amaretto-drink-recipes\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Disaronno Milkshake<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/a><\/P><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>3 ounces Disaronno<\/li>\n<li>2 ounces milk<\/li>\n<li>2 scoops vanilla ice cream<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>  <P>Place all ingredients in a blender with a cup of crushed ice. Blend until smooth.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"float:left; max-width:30%;margin-left:20px;\">\n  <P><a href=\"http:\/\/www.drinksmixer.com\/drink818.html\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Amaretto Rose<\/strong><\/a><\/P><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1 1\/2 oz\u00a0 amaretto almond liqueur<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 oz lime juice<\/li>\n<li>club soda<\/li>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Pour amaretto and lime juice over ice in a collins glass. Fill with club soda and serve.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"clear:both;\"><\/div>\n<p><P>The next liqueur on our tour of Italian liqueurs is <strong>Galliano<\/strong>. This liqueur was named after the famous officer of the first Italo-Ethopian War. It is said that his small brigade held the line against insurmountable odds. It&#8217;s known for being a long, thin bottle, usually placed at the back of the bar display.<\/p>\n<div style=\"display:block; border-bottom: thin solid white;padding-bottom:5px; margin-bottom:5px;\">\n<div style=\"float:left; max-width:30%;\"><P><a href=\"http:\/\/www.diffordsguide.com\/cocktails\/recipe\/1833\/slow-comfortable-screw-against-the-wall\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Sloe Comfortable Screw Against the Wall<\/strong><\/a><\/P><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1 oz vodka<\/li>\n<li>Half ounce Sloe Gin<\/li>\n<li>Half ounce Southern Comfort<\/li>\n<li>Fill with Orange Juice<\/li>\n<li>Float (using the underside of a spoon) half ounce of Galliano<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Combine ingrediants, float galliano. Note that there are many variations and additions. Some include a &#8220;screw with a bang&#8221;, which adds a half ounce of overproof rum (Bacardi 151), a screw &#8220;against a cold, hard wall&#8221;, which includes making the drink over ice with overproof rum and the &#8220;screw with a kiss&#8221;, with a half ounce of the aforementioned Amaretto.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"float:left; max-width:30%;margin-left:20px;\"><P><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Harvey_Wallbanger\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Harvey Wallbanger<\/strong><\/a><\/P><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>3 parts vodka<\/li>\n<li>1 part galliano<\/li>\n<li>Fill with Orange Juice<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"float:left; max-width:30%;margin-left:20px;\">\n  <P><a href=\"http:\/\/www.foodandwine.com\/fwx\/drink\/3-cocktails-will-make-you-dust-bottle-galliano\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Galliano Root Beer<\/strong><\/a><\/P><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1-2 ounces Galliano<\/li>\n<li>Top with Root Beer<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"clear:both;\"><\/div>\n<p><P><strong>Campari<\/strong> is a household name in Italian liqueurs, not only as it&#8217;s the name of the company that produces numerous aperitifs, but also due to it&#8217;s namesake drink. Campari is best served as an aperitif, or a drink to be imbibed before eating, thus spurring digestion.<\/P><\/p>\n<div style=\"display:block; border-bottom: thin solid white;padding-bottom:5px; margin-bottom:5px;\">\n<div style=\"float:left; max-width:30%;\"><P><a href=\"http:\/\/www.seriouseats.com\/recipes\/2011\/09\/campari-pomegranate-grapefruit-cocktail-brunch-drinks.html\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Campari Sanguinea<\/strong><\/a><\/P><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1 oz Campari<\/li>\n<li>2 oz pomegranate juice<\/li>\n<li>2 ounces grapefruit juice<\/li>\n<li>Grapefruit twist for garnish<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Fill a cocktail shaker with ice, then add Campari, pomegranate juice, and grapefruit juice. Shake well. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass and garnish with grapefruit twist.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"float:left; max-width:30%;margin-left:20px;\"><P><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Harvey_Wallbanger\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>The Jasmine<\/strong><\/a><\/P><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1 1\/2 ounces gin<\/li>\n<li>3\/4 ounce fresh-squeezed lemon juice<\/li>\n<li>1\/4 ounce Campari<\/li>\n<li>1\/4 ounce Cointreau<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>  <P>Pour ingredients into a cocktail shaker, fill with ice and shake well for 10 seconds. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass; garnish with a lemon twist.<\/P><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"float:left; max-width:30%;margin-left:20px;\">\n  <P><a href=\"http:\/\/www.campari.com\/int\/en\/cocktails\/list\/campari-orange-passion\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Galliano Root Beer<\/strong><\/a><\/P><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1-2 oz Campari<\/li>\n<li>orange<\/li>\n<li>tablespoon brown sugar<\/li>\n<li>orange juice<\/li>\n<li>ice<\/li>\n<p><P>Prepare the drink in a tall glass. Place orange and brown sugar in the glass and crush to a pulp. Add crushed ice. Add the Campari and orange juice, and gently stir. Garnish with a red cherry.<\/P>\n  <\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"clear:both;\"><\/div>\n<p><P><strong>Aperol<\/strong>, another Campari brand, is Campani&#8217;s younger sibling. While an orange liqueur, Aperol is just as sweet as Campari, but with less alcohol. <\/P><\/p>\n<div style=\"display:block; border-bottom: thin solid white;padding-bottom:5px; margin-bottom:5px;\">\n<div style=\"float:left; max-width:30%;\"><P><a href=\"http:\/\/www.foodandwine.com\/fwx\/drink\/3-ultra-refreshing-drinks-make-aperol\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Garden Party<\/strong><\/a><\/P><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1.5 oz bourbon<\/li>\n<li>1 oz Aperol<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 oz lemon juice<\/li>\n<li>Dash Angostura bitters<\/li>\n<li>Soda Water<\/li>\n<li>Lemon wheel and mint for garnish<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Combine first four ingrediants. Shake that all up hard, then strain it into a tall glass with ice. Add 2 ounces of soda, and garnish with a lemon wheel and mint sprig. Pro tip: Gently slap that mint on your hand a few times to release its aromatic oils before using it to garnish. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"float:left; max-width:30%;margin-left:20px;\"><P><a href=\"http:\/\/www.completecocktails.com\/Drinks\/BocaNegroni.aspx#.VYdKcPlVhBc\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Boca Negroni<\/strong><\/a><\/P><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1.5 oz Cachaca (Boca Loca)<\/li>\n<li>1.5 oz Aperol<\/li>\n<li>1.5 oz Sweet Vermouth<\/li>\n<li>Lemon &#8211; peel, for garnish<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>  <P>Stir cachaca, Aperol and sweet vermouth with ice in a mixing glass.<br \/>\nStrain into a rocks glass full of ice.<br \/>\nGarnish with a lemon twist.<\/P><br \/>\n<P>Note: Cachaca is the brazilian take on rum. If cachaca is unavailable, a premium <em>white<\/em> rum can be substituted. <\/P><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"float:left; max-width:30%;margin-left:20px;\">\n  <P><a href=\"http:\/\/www.campari.com\/int\/en\/cocktails\/list\/campari-orange-passion\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Rosita Aperolina<\/strong><\/a><\/P><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>2 oz Reposado Tequila<\/li>\n<li>.5 oz Dry Vermouth<\/li>\n<li>.5 oz Sweet Vermouth<\/li>\n<li>.5 &#8211; 1 oz Aperol<\/li>\n<li>Dash of Angostura Bitters<\/li>\n<li>Garnish with lemon peel<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><P>Combine ingrediants into a shaker, shake and strain into a chilled glass. Garnish.
